TES Annual Report
UNIQUE JOURNEYS The importance of our Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) cannot be understated, it is where the students in all sections have the chance to come together and engage in activities that are either things they love, want to improve in, or trying as a new experience. The quantity and variety of options of the CCA programme at Primary and Secondary continued to expand in 2024-25. Primary CCAs At the Primary campus, CCAs are offered to students from all three sections, with teachers running the majority of activities, with support from some external music teachers and sports coaches. Teachers provide a balanced, supportive, and challenging co-curricular programme that offers students the opportunity to develop self-confidence, self-awareness, and life skills that underpin a whole-child approach to education. Our range of CCAs provides opportunities for students to try out new activities or develop existing skills in their fields of interest. The numerous CCAs cover areas such as Sports, Dance, Music, the Arts, general interest hobbies, STEAM, languages, and local culture. For the 2024-25 academic year we were able to extend the CCA provision to start earlier and finish later in the year in order to gain the full benefit of the activities on offer. A further enhancement of longer CCA blocks has been made for the 2025 26 academic year. A few significant highlights this year were: A repeat of the very successful Mechanical Engineering Club where children embarked on a hands-on journey to design, construct and fine-tune their very own remote-controlled cars; Our Scholar’s Cup Debate CCA saw children excelling in the Taiwan national round held in Hsinchu. Later on in the year, these children then presented a debate showcase in school, around the change to our playground football rules. Music at the Primary Campus As normal, the student music groups had a very busy year with a lot of performances both in school and outside. The Christmas Bazaar was the highlight for the first semester, with all groups performing, but there were also other external performances; lower primary choir at the Regent Hotel, the upper primary choir and Jazz band at the ECCT Christmas Luncheon. In the second semester, the upper choir had the opportunity to perform at the National Concert Hall in the Pre concert of the EETO European concert series, which was a very spectacular venue. Notable also was our successful participation in the FOBISIA Primary Music Festival, ten talented choir singers and eight skilled instrumentalists travelled to Wellington College International School in Shanghai, joining over 350 students from across the region. The festival concluded with a spectacular concert themed 'Magic,' featuring a dynamic blend of musical styles — from choral works and wind band to string ensemble and symphonic performances. Sport at the Primary Campus On the sports front, we hosted several TES football cups, attracting the participation of over 40 teams, our U10 team winning their division. Our Gymnastics CCA participated in local competitions, with both individuals and teams achieving great results. Finally, we participated in the FOBISIA Primary games in Thailand raking in several medals and trophies for outstanding performances (65 medals for Athletics, 12 medals for Swimming, 3 trophies for T-Ball and 4 trophies for Football). Arts at the Primary Campus The students of all sections and age groups did some amazing art work this year, and much of this has been adorning the walls and corridors in the primary campus for all to enjoy. There was also an art competition across all sections and age groups for the Europe Day celebration, with the theme of Digital Citizenship, with the winning students receiving a certificate and gift from Dr C.V. Chen following the European Day assembly. Art and entrepreneurship also combined at the Flea Market in June, as students created their own pieces of art to sell to the patrons of the event, and similarly there were KidzBiz stalls where students across the year groups also sold their eco-created items.
