TES Annual Report
German Section In the German Section, student wellbeing is a central pillar of school life, supported through a structured and multi layered approach. All teachers contribute to students’ social and emotional development, with form teachers playing a key role as primary contacts for both academic and personal concerns. A wide range of preventive initiatives are in place. As part of the project week on the topic ‘Healthy Living’, students explored various aspects of a balanced and healthy lifestyle through different projects. A total of six projects were available, focusing on both physical and mental well-being, with the following workgroups offered: ・ Project 1 – Nutrition: How can I eat healthily? ・ Project 2 – Fitness: How can I stay fit? ・ Project 3 – Relaxation: How can I reduce stress? Students worked in project-based groups, reflected on their own habits, and developed new strategies for a healthier everyday life. At the end of the week, the results were presented in a joint presentation—captured by the dedicated press group, who provided a lively recap with interviews, reports, and photos. Student voice is encouraged through regular class councils, and the school has established protective frameworks such as an anti-bullying guide, digital safety agreements, and the TES Safeguarding Policy. Media education is integrated into classroom teaching. Counselling services are extensive, involving form teachers, special educational support, elected liaison teachers, and a multilingual counselling department offering both group and individual support. New students and those in transition phases are proactively supported through check-in interviews. Parental engagement is also fostered through annual digital parenting workshops, addressing issues like screen time, cyberbullying, and online gaming. Additionally, students' well-being is monitored via regular ‘pulse surveys’ ensuring early identification and intervention for those in need. In addition, the students have established a valuable institution for peer-to-peer support in conflicts, called BLU (Alliance for Learner Support). This is a student initiative designed to help resolve minor conflicts among students through mediation, with support from the student liaison teachers. Finally, a working group of teachers has developed a prevention curriculum consisting of short units, which will be utilised during morning registration in future. These efforts reflect a holistic approach to student wellbeing, ensuring that every child is supported both academically and personally beyond the classroom. British Secondary and High School Section Community connection and outreach have been integral to TES’s mission. Events like the Southern Taiwan Model United Nations and the Chinese New Year assembly have helped students understand complex global issues and appreciate diverse perspectives. The engagement with Vox Nativa Academy and Ping Xi Junior High School during the Chinese New Year assembly was a spectacular way to welcome the Year of the Snake. Our students have also shown remarkable leadership and enterprise, organising debate tournaments and student leadership conferences that brought together students from various schools. These events have provided platforms for students to develop their skills and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Sports have been a significant part of our students' lives, with numerous achievements in volleyball, swimming, dance, football, basketball, badminton, tennis, and golf. These accomplishments reflect the dedication and hard work of our students and coaches. Sustainability has been a key focus for our school, with the Swire European Secondary Campus receiving Green Flag accreditation for its efforts in promoting environmental awareness. Our students have taken on the challenge of making our school a sustainable one, demonstrating perseverance and respect for nature. ・ Project 4 – Friendship: How can I maintain social relationships? ・ Project 5 – Games and Fun: How can I relax through play? ・ Project 6 – Press Group: Roving reporters document the week.
