Eco-Friendly Initiatives Eco-Schools Green Flag Award is an internationally recognised symbol of environmental excellence. EPC last held this award in 2022. Preparations began to regain it, with students learning about global citizenship, environmental responsibility, and practical ways to care for the planet. Through projects such as reducing waste, saving energy, and promoting sustainable lifestyles, we aim to help students develop important life skills and a deep understanding of how their actions can make a positive difference. A student committee of around 40 students met bi-weekly, and a parent and staff committee met once per month. The eco team introduced the ‘5 Eco Habits' which serve as our Eco Code the response has been very positive. At the TES/ECCT/EETO Beach cleaning event, we collected a third of a tonne of litter '338.1kg', and overall, with the help of the European Economic Trade Office (EETO) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (ECCT), 1,116 kg of discarded waste was removed from the beach. On Saturday, January 10th, 2026, a cross-section team of students, at the secondary campus, began work on reviewing the 'TES Sustainability Strategy'. Three more sessions were held before the new strategy was presented to the board. The ESC has begun work on its re-accreditation as an Eco School.
