BEYOND THE CLASSROOM: WELLBEING

EPC Campus - Playtime Whole School Initiative The primary campus completely redesigned playtime. Staff implemented cool new play zones to help kids enjoy breaktime more, with impressive engagement, resulting in fewer behavioural situations as play has become more integrated and cross-sectional interactions. British Primary Section Brought in 'Komodo', a wellness app to check in on student mental health and spot trends early. Also adopted 'Character Strong', an evidence-based programme giving teachers great tools to boost behaviour, safety, and wellbeing (all part of the BPS Wellbeing Overview). British Secondary & High School Continued use of AWE (Assessing Wellbeing in Education), where students take wellness surveys covering their experiences, feelings, and overall life perceptions. These surveys are followed up by 1-on-1 chats with pastoral teachers to dive deeper into the survey data. See below chart.

*Year 10 recorded the highest score across all four wellbeing measures.

French Section Fully rolled out the 'Shared Concern Method' (SCM) with a dedicated wellbeing team and ambassador students trained by Mrs Marie-Charlotte Clerf to tackle bullying non-punitively. Primary teachers started training on it too! Also trying out the 'Komodo' app to keep an eye on student wellbeing. German Section Weekly wellbeing check-ins for G5 and above track student wellness, followed by 1-on-1 chats if any concerns arise. The GS Student Council has kicked off their peer mediation programme "BLU-Büdnis für Lernendenunterstützung" (Student Support Alliance), while newly elected liaison teachers provide additional support for students when needed. In GS Primary School, weekly class councils offer students a dedicated platform to express their wishes and concerns.
