Our competitors, Georgia and Sina, showed nerves of steel, placing fourth and sixth, respectively. Next up were the girls’ basketball games. The team gave it their all and secured a well-deserved gold medal. Congratu UNSTOPPABLE! A Flurry of Medals for the German School Taipei lations on this fantastic achievement! At the same time, the boys were playing in the football competition and took third place, winning the bronze medal. On Wednesday, the top spots were up for grabs in the swimming pool. Caitlin won gold in freestyle and silver in breaststroke, an incredible per formance! In the afternoon, all the teams went together to visit the Shanghai Tower in order to get to know each other even better. Then, a boat ride on the Huangpu River, along the Bund, with spectacular views of the skyline, round ed out the day. We thank the German School Shang hai for this wonderful invitation and for being gracious hosts. This year, Shanghai hosted the 8th East Asia Games, where seven teams, including the TES German Section, competed in various sports. For a whole week, there was laughter, play, competition, and cheering. After arriving and attending the colourful opening cer emony featuring an orchestra, choir, and dancers, the students got to know their host families. Part of the ex perience is staying with students from the host school and living with their families throughout the event.
