Our exit point included a Temples, Tombs & Treasures Day, where parents and carers were invited into school to see our mini Egyptian museums. Here, the children had the opportunity to showcase their learning from their weeks of reading, research, and artifact making. On March 28, 2026, the children, dressed in tradition al-styled Egyptian clothing to enhance the experience and the showcase started with the children singing Egyptian-themed songs and then inviting the visitors back to our mini-museums for short presentations about their learning: A poster showing the importance of the River Nile, including the Egyptian calendar. An Egyptian death mask: The Ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife. This station also included intricate eye makeup, as kohl was invented by the Egyptians. The Usekh (Broad Collar) necklace: The most iconic Egyptian necklace served as powerful sym bols of wealth and status.

A clepsydra: The Ancient Egyptians invented this water clock to keep time. A written set of instructions to mummify a body: This highlighted a very important Egyptian belief and tradition. A mummified tomato: This was used to demon strate the mummification process. A pharaoh poster: This shared the achievements of their chosen pharaoh. Hieroglyphs: An interactive look at the writing of the Ancient Egyptians. It was a lovely interactive experience where parents could enjoy the literature, admire the artwork, test out the water clocks, dig out the mummified tomatoes, and have a go at cracking the hieroglyphics. It was a won derful end to a fun and memorable unit of learning.
