A Culinary Journey as Seen by CM2 Students By Ms Cindy Derraridj, Class Teacher, FS Mr Phil Dawson, Class Teacher, FS Territoires d’Asie is a photography compe tition organised by the French school in the AEFE net work for the Asia-Pacific Zone.

This year’s theme, “Des pupilles aux papilles: voyage gourmand dans mon pays/pays d’accueil”; “From Pal ate to Plate: A Culinary Journey in my Home/Host Coun try,” invites students to take a sensitive and artistic look at the flavours, traditions, and places that shape their daily lives.

Following this fieldwork, each student selected two or three photographs and wrote captions in both French and English to accompany their shots. Through this pro cess of writing and reflecting on the images, students were also able to present their artistic approach and personal perspective. The CM2 students are delighted and honoured to pres ent their exhibition at Lutetia Café, followed by an exhi bition at the Sogo art gallery, and shown to all the pri mary students within the school.

The CM2 students from the French section had the pleasure of participating in this wonderful photogra phy project. Before the fieldwork, several art classes focused on the fundamentals of photography: fram ing, light, composition, and the photographer’s eye. Camera in hand, the students then set out to explore various iconic locations in Taipei, such as the famous Shidong Market, the traditional Dihua Street, and the picturesque village of Pinglin, known for its museum and magnificent tea plantations.
