TES Annual Report
Parents and the Parents' Council organised and financed an Easter surprise for all children, providing lovingly prepared goodie bags. Parents helped with events like the Christmas Bazaar, St. Nicholas Day, Carnival celebrations, and Open House days. They also contributed to buffets for events like the Christmas party and the kindergarten welcome party. These actions demonstrate the strong sense of community within the school. Parental support makes special events possible, bringing joy and special experiences to the children. Humanity and fairness are two essential pillars of educational work in the German Section. Every year, together with the students and student representatives, we look for a new partner organisation where we can learn more about their charitable work. For this purpose, we invited the partner organisation to an assembly, which took place on 20 June and impressively showcased the fantastic work of the ‘Down Syndrome Foundation R.O.C.’. On 23 June, the time had come. Under the motto ‘If you move, you make a difference’, all students were called upon to run as many laps as possible and make a donation to raise as much money as possible for the organisation, thereby actively supporting its work. A wonderful campaign that combines exercise with a good cause. British Secondary and High School Section The BSHS students have been actively involved in a large number of community service projects, ‘Doing Well By Doing Good’, during the 2024-25 academic year. The Year 7 students raised over NT$250,000 to plant 360 trees on the west coast of Taiwan to stop wind erosion. The partnership with the Tse-Xin Organic Agricultural Foundation has been running for six years with over 2,500 trees planted in northern Taiwan by Year 7 TES students. In May, Year 8 ran an environmental project called ‘Once in a Million' with the aim of raising awareness around litter in Taiwan. The aim is to encourage people to look down and pick up any rubbish they see and as a result also make people think twice before throwing anything onto the ground. Over the course of the past six months students have had cooking experiences where they have produced healthy lunch boxes for the homeless community in Taipei. Over 1,000 meals have been distributed. All meals prepared by, and funded by, our students.
CAS continues to be at the heart of the IB programme. Some examples of the projects are below. ・ Yong Gang Elementary School (Pintung) - Weekly Online English Language Learning ・ Mad Hatters - Knitting hats for premature babies. ・ Homeless Association - Organising the collection of items and food for the homeless. ・ Forblind - Teaching English to the visually impaired. There are many more initiatives and fantastic projects in place in H3 and H4.
